Traditionally, women in Indian subcontinent used to wear Sarees as their regular attire. This has been a common attire across India but as you pass through the length and breadth of India, variation was common. Thus evolved multiple types of Sarees in India mostly as per the location.

Kurtis or Kurtas are traditional wear for the Indian subcontinent since long. Man used to wear Kurtas and Women would wear Kurtis. Kurtis are generally Knee length and comes in multiple designs. Women usually wore them with lowers known as Salwar and duppata.
